Essie Gel Couture!

Essie are releasing a swanky new collection called ‘Gel Couture’! It’s a new collection, new bottle shape, new brush, new formula, and 42 new shades! Essie ‘Gel Couture’ features a new twirly bottle, a new twirly stemmed paddle brush and a new two-step formula, promising up to 14 days of wear without UV light! (We are yet to find a tw0-step polish system that lives up to this promise, but we live in hope!)

The formula is a two-step polish, with a base/color coat and a super-glossy top coat, which seals your manicure for 14 days, but we all know that this depends on your nails and how much you use your hands. The pigments in this new formula have been specially formulated to avoid staining your nail beds. But for anyone who has porous nails (i.e. you are prone to staining), I recommend using a base coat, especially with the darker shades.

The new brush is a tapered cut designed to hug the curve of your nail, supposedly giving you a more even and precise application. This means it is easier for you to get a salon quality manicure at home, sounds amazing! The new bottle design is inspired by the runway, featuring a twirly shape that has been made to look like a dress twirling on the runway. The stem of the brush also features a twirly design, tying in with the new bottle, which I think is a super cute addition.

The Essie ‘Gel Couture’ is launching in June, and the 42 new shades are available for purchase for $11.50 from essie.com.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get my hands on some of the new shades! Will you be buying any of the new Essie polishes? Let us know by commenting below!
