"Surgery
and Medicine is not only a precise science, but also an art, which requires
talent and inspiration founded on scientific and clinical knowledge."
For most people, undergoing foot surgery is a traumatic physical and psychological experience. The decision to undergo such procedure is often influenced by the patient's apprehensions that may arise from stories of friends and relatives who may have had unfortunate experiences.
However, the feet are the foundation of the body and surgery is often the only way to correct certain conditions, so that the person can return to their normal, active, pain free life.
Through
his many years in private practice, Dr.Fish has developed well refined and delicate
surgical techniques where his patients virtually have no pain after any surgical
procedures performed by him. His technique allows him to decrease the amount
of time consumed during the procedure, which is a very important aspect in foot
surgery since all procedures are performed with a tourniquet to provide a bloodless
field. Minimizing time consumption prevents damage to tissue and decreases the
amount of postoperative swelling, primarily which is the main cause of postoperative
pain. Since all surgical procedures are performed in his office, he has total
control of the sterile field, which significantly diminishes chances for postoperative
infections.
What also makes his practice unique, is that he guarantees to his patients 24-hour
postoperative care seven days a week.
The most common procedures that he performs include: re-constructive bunion
surgery, permanent corn removal, nail and soft tissue surgery. Some of his patients
who are performing artists, dancers and athletes have been able to resume and
continue their careers after undergoing treatment in his office.
