In the VIP Chair: Sabrina Nail Salon, Woodland Hills CA

In The VIP Chair salon reviews pedicure.com

I was about to embark on a long journey and when I say long, think 14 hours on a plane to New Zealand with an eight-month-old baby, and that was only one of the 12 flights we were to undertake in 30 days. The time had come to take our precious gem to Australia and New Zealand to meet the family and despite being excited, my husband and I were also nervous about how our little cherub would travel. The first flight from NYC to LA was a success, although my husband and I were on edge for the whole 5 hours. You could feel people stare as they walked past us on their way to their seats; internally pleading that they weren’t seated next to the baby who had the potential to scream the entire time. Luckily our darling slept the whole way (might have something to with me shoving my boob in her mouth every-time she gave a hint of a whimper).

I needed to relax so when we had the chance to stay overnight in LA with our friends, we jumped at it (we literally jumped and then did a happy dance). I couldn’t see my family with my nails not being done and I had no time to get them primped to perfection before I left home, so off to the salon I went as soon as I landed. My friend took me to her local salon in Woodland Hills, talk about having a nail technician who was a complete perfectionist- she examined my toes and noticed I had a slight ingrown nail (not ideal when traveling) and proceeded to dig and dig. Ouch you say and yes you are right, those things are painful, but like a perfectionist, she continued until it was fixed. She kept muttering under her breath about the person who had done my nails previously, I didn’t have the heart to tell her it was me.

So there I sat a little red faced that I the publisher for a nail site had an ingrown toe nail that was self inflicted. Once I got over my slight embarrassment I started to enjoy the fact that they were doing both my fingers and toes simultaneously and brilliantly I might add. I went with OPI’s ‘Tiramisu for Two’ on my fingers and the beautiful bright red tone from China Glaze aptly named ‘High Maintenance’ on my toes. I have to say that I was impressed with how quick they were and that they were so strict on sanitation. I will definitely make another visit if I stop over in LA again.

Until next time,

Ruth Shelling
