Subtle and Simple St Patrick’s Day Nail Tutorial!

St Patrick’s day is coming up and we have come up with a super cute mani idea for those who want to get into the Irish spirit! If nail art is not your thing, fear not as this manicure is so easy. We say this a lot, but if Editor Mette can do it, pretty much anyone can!

We wanted to capture the spirit of the holiday by using the classic colors- green, gold and white- but not making it too OTT that your nails would look out of place on any other day. The polishes we used were Sally Hansen ‘Mint Sorbet’, Essie ‘Blanc’ and Covergirl Outlast ‘Golden Opportunity’ but you could use any combination of green, gold and white polish that you already own. Alternatively a brighter green and more glittery gold combo would look great!

Step 1-

Paint all your nails with a green polish, 2-3 coats depending on your polish. Alternatively, start off with a white base coat then paint 1-2 coats of green polish, this will really brighten the green.

Step 2-

Apply a thin layer of gold polish to your index and ring finger nails. Make it thin enough that you can still see the green polish underneath.

Step 3-

Using a dotter tool, make random white spots on your index nail, thumb and pinky. Try and make them in varying shapes and sizes. If you don’t have a dotter tool, use the end of a bobby pin. If you want to add more gold, use a smaller size of dotter and add a small gold dot on some of the white dots.

Step 4-

Seal with a top coat and you are good to go!
