Tutorial Tuesday: Color Blocking

Hey gorgeous! Tutorial Tuesday is back this week with a beautiful and simple ‘Color Blocking’ tutorial. This look is great for everyday, but depending on the color choices can be dressed up. If you aren’t confident painting designs on your nails, do an accent nail on your pointer or ring finger.

You will need three different polish colors, we used Estee Lauder ‘GK Caviar’, OPI ‘Mod About You’ and Sally Hansen ‘Rockstar Pink’. You will also need a striper brush, or tape if you are more comfortable using that to draw straight lines than going free-hand. Obviously you also need a base coat and top coat!

Paint your chosen base coat on all of your nails.

Once this has dried, paint 2 coats of your chosen base polish. We used Estee Lauder ‘GK Caviar’

Paint the lower half of your nails with your second polish color, going diagonally from left to right across the nail. For this step we used OPI ‘Mod About You’.

Do the same with your third polish color, but going diagonally the other way. So from right to left. We used Sally Hansen ‘Rockstar Pink’ for this step.

If you have trouble with getting polish on and around the skin of your fingers, use a small and thin paintbrush or q-tip dipped in polish remover to tidy up the edges. You could also use a polish remover pen.

Wait to dry and seal with a top coat! If you want to make it a bit more quirky, use a matte topcoat on all or just one of your fingers!

So what do you think? Is this tutorial one for you? Let us know by commenting below!
