The trend of matching your nail polish and lipstick is making a comeback this year and the Pedicure team could not be more excited! The trend began in 1952 when Revlon launched their ‘Fire and Ice’ campaign featured Dorian Leigh in a gorgeous sparkly silver dress with bright red lips and matching tips!
It has since reappeared on the runways at this year’s fashion weeks and we think it brings a look of sophistication to any outfit.
Admittedly this trend can look pretty tacky if done wrong, but worry not, the Pedicure team is here to show you how to match your lips and tips to create a flawless look! We’ve rounded up some of our favorite brands that make matching lipsticks/glosses and nail polishes so you can be paired to perfection!
Butter LONDON makes it easy, selling a ‘Lips and Tips’ gift set (shown in Chancer). Alternatively, you can buy their lipsticks and glosses and match them to the nail lacquers of the same name.
For touch of glamour, Dior’s range of Addict Gloss and Addict Lipstick matches their range of Addict Lacquer. (pictured in Delice)
NARS makes matchy-matchy chic with their highy-pigmented offerings (like Jungle Red, pictured)
Finally, MAC has a range of nail polishes that you can match to either glosses or lipsticks, depending on your preference. In our opinion, MAC are the masters of lipstick and lipgloss, and they have a range of colors to suit every mood.
