Fashion Week Round Up

Spring Fashion Week is back again! New York is done, London has just finished and Milan is about to begin. The biggest trends for the upcoming season are being showcased across the globe. This Spring we want to take inspiration not just from the manicures that were on the catwalk, but the clothing itself! Read on for our favorite looks from Spring Fashion Week 2019!

New York

Tom Ford kicked off Fashion Week with a show that was dark and sophisticated. Each piece was tailored to perfection and screamed bombshell. Take inspiration from the smokey eye look and use soft metallics for your manicures, gold, copper, bronze and the ever-trendy rose gold!

Rodarte combined color with gorgeous splices of metallic. The makeup artist James Kaliardos took inspiration from a Picasso exhibition at the Tate. This is evident in the mish mash of beautiful colors in the makeup. Color is in, so try some bright fuschia or teal on your manicure. Be bold!

Burberry as always were classic, contemporary and classy! The Burberry color palette of nude, beige and cream, with some dark colors and reds is synonymous with the brand. Just like the Burberry plaid will never go out of style, a nude or red manicure will always look good!

The Paul Costelloe show was amazing, fun, colorful and a little bit wacky! Paul described his show  as “A joyous collection in an array of rainbow colors and optimistic silhouettes, powerful enough to stop traffic in Piccadilly, Dublin or Manhattan”. The clashing prints and colors were incredible, the inspiration for manicures is endless! To embrace the color palette and prints of the Paul Costelloe show, try dry-brushing a mix of colors into your manicure, like blue, orange, pink or yellow. (hint if you’re not sure what ‘dry-brushing’ is, see our post here  for an explanation).

Alberta Ferrari showcased a boho luxe style show full of celebrity models, hey Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid! By Italian standards the show was extremely casual with crochet and chiffon fabrics. You can reflect this in your mani with different textured topcoats and lace effect nail art!

Our Editor Mette is a fan of a glitter manicure, she can often be found pleading with her manicurist for just one more coat to achieve the ultimate sparkle. She's Australian so forgive her for occasionally writing in British English.
