How To: St. Patrick’s Day Nail Art

Top o’ the morning to you! St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, and everyone is a little bit Irish on March 17th. Whether you drink a Guinness, dance a jig, or just pop a few shamrocks on your nails, it’s always fun to get into the spirit.

Celebrity manicurist Yuko Wada has created a fantastic nail art tutorial that you can follow and adapt to add a touch of Blarney to digits. This isn’t the easiest tutorial, but it’s worth it – we rate it 4 shamrocks out of 5.

Step 1: Start with your base coat and then a coat of colour. We used a neutral beige so the clovers popped.

Step 2: Using a dotter tool, do two green dots together – this will be the start of your first clover.

Step 3: Take your striper brush with a small amount of green and carefully connect the dots to create a small heart.

Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add more leaves to your clovers.

Step 5: Using your striper again, do a short line, and a small square on top of it for your leprechauns hat.

Step 6: Do a dot of light pink under the hat.

Step 7: Using a bright orange polish, run your striper around the pink dot to create a bright orange beard on your leprechaun.

Head to your nearest Irish pub and get your green on!

Note:  A shamrock is technically a THREE leaf clover, but we loved the look of the four leaf clover in this design. You can easily change your design to be three leaves instead.
