Sometimes things come across our desk that seem like they can’t be for real. There are all kinds of wacky and zany products and tools out there – some great, some questionable, and some downright ridiculous. This week it’s the Proshaker – a little gizmo that shakes your nail polish for you. It costs $99.99. Yes, you read that right.
Among its touted features and benefits is the fact it is an ‘ergonomic and space saving design’. Frankly, for $99.99 you would want it to do more than just shake your polish if it’s going to take up room on your bench!
This tool is targeted at high traffic salons who turn over a lot of gel polish (it is endorsed by OPI), and is ‘the first professional shaker designed specifically for shaking gel polishes and nail lacquers’. The selling point of the Proshaker is that it ‘consistently delivers on smooth, bubble-free applications’. We can understand the appeal. It’s also great for on-set manicurists who have large polish collections but don’t necessarily use them all at once, so a shaker tool will help keep the formula smooth and flowing. It has to be asked though…would you pay $99.99 for a tool when you can shake and roll your polish with your hand? You might not be shaking it at 500 RPM (revolutions per minute) but we think your polish will be just fine.
