In the VIP Chair: Larchmont Nails Review Larchmont, NY

What does one do when they are almost 20-weeks pregnant, can’t fit into any of their clothes and feel swollen from head to toe. Go and treat yourself to a mani and pedi complete with an additional 15-minute shoulder massage of course. Well that is what I did, you see I was actually trying to escape vacuuming the house, I mean come on I am pregnant, juggling a full work schedule, an adorable 2-year old and my incredible husband, so I delegated the vacuuming this week to him, between us I am not sure that was a good idea:) Anyhow, after visiting a bustling Trader Joe’s for my weekly grocery shop I was more than ready for some “me” time. I entered Larchmont Nails as they were opening their doors and despite being busy as they set up the salon for the day, the manager immediately made me feel welcome and directed me to a pedicure spa bath. Once again, I had taken my own toxic-free  Zoya polish for both my fingers and toes so I didn’t need to spend my normal 10+minutes agonizing on what polish to choose (which is kind of crazy because we all know I always go for some shade of red;). I brought with me my bright red fav Red Sooki for my fingers and used a deeper Zoya hue for my toes – Janice.

My nail technician Jenny was amazing!! She took such great care in preparing my nails and even gave me an extra foot and hand massage – maybe she could tell my pregnant swollen feet needed it? I didn’t catch the name of the massage therapist who started working her magic on my sore neck and shoulders while my fingers were being polished to perfection. I was in heaven so asked for an additional 15-minutes, I mean I figured it is so rare for me to take time out that I deserved it – right? Don’t you just love how I justify it? The salon was rather large for New York standards and had an entire wall dedicated to photos of their client’s special occasions from weddings, to proms to births. I have never seen anything like it, there was literally 100s of photos of happy customers. I could see why the staff were so friendly and did an awesome job of polishing my fingers and toes. They even helped put my socks and boots back on and put my phone and other items I had with me in my handbag so I didn’t mess up my nails. It is the small touches that make all of the difference in the service industry and this salon gets 5 stars in my opinion. I will definitely recommend them to anyone visiting Larchmont.

Until next time,

Ambiance: Relaxing environment with soft music playing in the background, it was quiet as they had just opened which was a nice change to what I am used to.

Cleanliness of salon: It was a large salon and seemed to be clean.

Polish: Manicure and Pedicure: I used my own Zoya’s  Red Sooki polish for my fingers and Janice for my toes. Retails $10.

Polish job & chip factor: A brilliant polish job. My fingers lasted 7-days and my toes 3-weeks!!

Color range: Good selection of polish colors, they stocked Essie, OPI, and CND. The manager/owner rolled the polishes which is a good sign that she knows how to look after them.

Customer engagement: Great customer services, nothing was too much trouble. Friendly and engaging. Price range:  Mani and pedi: $28,  Manicure $8, Pedicure $20, Special Pedicure $33, Green Tea Pedicure $49.
